Project Abstract: |
The objectives of the review are to evaluate the clinical effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of trastuzumab (Herceptin ®, Genentech, Inc., South San Fransisco, California) and vinorelbine (Navelbine®, Burroughs Wellcome Co, Research triangle Park, NC; Pierre Fabre Medicament, Paris, France) in the management of breast cancer. Information relating to the two drugs will be presented separately. Only randomised controlled trials of the drugs alone or in combination with other agents versus systemic therapy without the drugs, will be considered in the assessment of clinical effectiveness. The assessment of cost effectiveness will only include full economic evaluations (cost effectiveness analyses, cost-utility analyses and cost-benefit analyses). The HTA Programme commissioned this technology assessment report on behalf of the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence. Details of the appraisal timetable and processes can be found at the NICE website |
