Headline: |
The trial found that specially trained practice nurses can provide effective cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to primary care patients with a clinical diagnosis of irritable bowel syndrome, however CBT does not reduce service or social costs. It was also found that the beneficial therapeutic effects of the addition of CBT to antispasmodic therapy persist for up to 6 months. |
