Second round of NIHR Clinical Trials Support Funding launched
News release from NETSCC, HTA
26 January 2010
A second round of priming funds has been launched for Clinical Trial Units (CTUs) who intend to conduct trials funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) research programmes.
This funding opportunity will help address the need for ensuring sufficient research capacity to support expansion in clinical trials as identified in both the national R&D strategy, Best Research for Best Health, and the Cooksey review of UK health research funding.
The NIHR Evaluation, Trials and Studies Coordinating Centre (NETSCC) is managing this funding which is being offered to any unit who has achieved registration with the UKCRC. CTUs can apply for one of three bands - £150,000, £200,000 or £250,000 per year - and funding will be awarded based on their record of achievement in publicly-funded pragmatic clinical trials.
The deadline for application is Thursday 4 February 2010. For more details or to apply please visits the CTU funding pages.
