Medicines for children
The first HTA themed call covered the broad area of medicines for children, in support of the newly formed Medicines for Children Research Network (MCRN). This was set up to target the development of safe and effective medicines for the treatment of youngsters aged newborn to 18.
Full research proposals from 16 teams (shortlisted from 52) were considered by the HTA Medicines for Children Assessment Board in May 2006, and a portfolio of seven projects has now been commissioned.
